Mobility trends in enterprise geo-management

What do you do?

GoDoWorks is an enterprise geo-management solution that lets you monitor remotely and in real time the key information produced by staff working outside a company's offices, consolidating information from decentralized sources and systematizing it.  The GoDoWorks web system interacts with the mobile app installed on the smartphones or tablets field teams use as a tool for doing their jobs away from the company.

How do you do it?

Understanding that technology is only a means of strengthening the client's business, GoDoWorks approaches each project from a more consultative perspective, with a working method that starts by understanding their needs and then delivers value propositions based on its platform's technology and on the best market practices for their particular segment.

Why did you decide to bet on a startup?

We found a great opportunity in mobile technology as a driver for improving processes and optimizing resources in  companies whose core business rests on the services they deliver outside their offices. Productivity as the main goal for return on investment, and the chance to get information in real time. The growth of mobile services has underpinned that vision. Business technologies such as virtualization and cloud solutions are without doubt the main allies in supporting the development of an enterprise mobility strategy as a driver of business transformation across different industries in Uruguay.

The dynamic environment we are in today pushes us to compete quickly and nimbly, which means taking some important points into account: seizing the moment, getting ahead, having the right tools to deliver on the strategy, responding in time to what our competitors do — in other words, integrating companies' commercial and operational processes with the need to deliver a better service in the field and, more broadly, to the market.

What have been the company's 3 milestones?

The GoDoWorks platform was developed in Montevideo, Uruguay around five years ago, just before the boom in smartphones and enterprise mobility began.

In 2014, after several years of success with the GoDoWorks enterprise geo-management product, the company took the strategic decision to begin going international, starting with Colombia. In that process it achieved its first success by setting up the GoDoWorks office in Bogotá.

In late 2015  it was chosen as one of the 3 best startups by the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (Cuti) for its international achievements and regional projects.

In 2016, with less than 2 years in the Colombian market, GoDoWorks had already delivered major implementation projects in the main business verticals — technical service, companies installing and optimizing fixed and mobile telecom networks, engineering firms, trade marketing, home healthcare, survey companies and others; some operating across the whole Latin American region, from Mexico to Argentina. It now stands as a strong competitor in the market, with important alliances with distributors, business partners and telecom companies joining forces to win significant business in this country.

What has growth in sales, client numbers and job creation looked like?

Regionally we have offices in three countries (Uruguay, Colombia and Bolivia) and soon in Mexico, where mobility, as in Colombia, is considered critical to development. We are around 20 people between consultants, project engineers and developers, who make this company number one in its field. We have more than 100 clients, some of them the largest in their industries, and more than 5,000 mobile users across the region using the tool.

Since GoDoWorks started in 2011, its activity and revenue have not stopped growing, doubling revenue and client numbers year on year, in step with the consolidation of mobile technology in Latin America.

What is the long-term goal?

GoDoWorks plans to open new offices in other countries and to establish itself as the leading integrator of this kind of solution in Latin America, with projects in every country in the region and in North America, and also to reach Europe, starting with Spain. Alongside that, to keep building major integrations with top-tier software such as ERPs, CRMs and other management and business intelligence (BI) platforms, establishing itself as their mobile management solution.

Where do you see yourselves in a decade?

In a decade, our company sees itself multiplying its workforce across the region, reaching as many industries as possible and being the leading name in technology solutions for enterprise geo-management.

What will it take to get there?

Staying at the forefront of technological change, delivering value in every project we take on, contributing to automation, operational efficiency and client satisfaction, and being conscious that every day we build our future around our personal commitment to each of our people.
