Field productivity: the answer to rising wage costs

The 2026 minimum wage increase is a done deal. For companies whose operation happens out in the field —technicians, crews, merchandisers, sales reps, supervisors, inspectors— the impact is sharper still: labor cost rises while room to maneuver shrinks.

In that context, the biggest risk is reaching for short-term fixes: across-the-board raises, disorderly cuts or more operational pressure on the teams. Recent experience shows that road does not hold. It flattens structures, breaks internal fairness and disconnects pay from the real value each role delivers.

The conclusion is clear: this is not about paying less, it is about paying better — and that is only possible when pay is backed by real, measurable productivity.
