Field collections
Field collections is the debt collection work done by visiting the debtor at their home or business, rather than by phone or digital channels. It is common in consumer finance, services and fast-moving consumer goods across the region.
Its operational particularity is that it handles valuables: whoever collects receives money or documents, and that demands strict reconciliation and traceability. Recording it on the spot, with a digital receipt, is what prevents differences between what was collected and what was handed in.
As in any field operation, the efficiency lies in the itinerary: prioritising by amount and by likelihood of collection, and grouping by zone. Visiting in order of due date is the most common way to spend the day travelling.
