Field mobile app
The field mobile app is the tool with which the person working away from the office receives their work, executes it and returns the evidence. It is where the record is created: if it is not entered there, the data does not exist anywhere else in the system.
It has one requirement that sets it apart from any other management application: it has to work offline. On a construction site, in a basement or on a highway there is no signal, and an app that needs internet to save forces the work to be redone on return, which is exactly what digitisation was meant to avoid.
The second requirement is brevity. Every field you ask of someone standing up, wearing gloves and with a customer waiting is paid for in data quality: long forms get filled in badly, or filled in later, from memory.
